The stark geometry of Foster’s sculptural practice reveals the artist’s ongoing quest for achieving perfection. Shaping familiar objects into stark - geometric forms.

His sculptures accomplish a subtle balance between static form and motion, throughout his practice, Foster distils forms to an essential core, translating natural beings into distinct geometric structures.

Foster's analysis of anatomy and form highlights key characteristics without going into detail, letting abstract approximations take the place of subtle curves and organic shapes. Foster communicates important details through geometric features and does so with skill. The polygon shapes' atypical surfaces and sharp edges eliminate any sense of individual monumentality while maintaining the sculptures' primary emphasis.

In his more recent work, the linear planes imply the design of digital CAD models and the art of origami; suggesting these works could be moulded from resin or even folded from paper.

In my effort to bring down Ben Fosters's sculpture of stainless steel and metal and translating it down into a basic framework of geometric structures and lines, Math becomes more than just a tool; it becomes an essential part of the entire design process.

Fundamentally, AutoCAD is a geometry-based programme that uses mathematical ideas to create the exact curves, lines, and shapes that make up this sculpture.

You may ascertain the exact dimensions, scale, and spatial relationships of each component—from the complex mane of the lion to its body—by using mathematical formulas and methodologies. Mathematical ratios and algorithms are also used to fine-tune scale and proportionality. You can modify the lion sculpture's dimensions and proportions using AutoCAD's tools while maintaining the sculpture's overall harmony and balance. You may keep consistency and coherence in the design and make sure that every part works in unison by utilising mathematical scaling factors. Foster's artwork is faithfully captured in the final form of its graphic image, thanks to the mathematics that goes into it.

Moreover, mathematical ideas like transformations, matrices, and vectors are relevant when it comes to three-dimensional modelling. You can accurately and precisely explore and manipulate objects in three-dimensional space with the help of these mathematical abstractions. You add depth, volume, and spatial reality to the image by carefully arranging these mathematical processes.

To sum up, when you use AutoCAD to replicate Ben Foster's lion sculpture, every aspect of the design process, from spatial manipulation to geometric structure, is based on mathematical principles, which results in an accurate and appealing tribute to Foster's captivating artwork.
